I guess Calgary treated me too well during the last month. My original plan was to stay here few month, travel a bit and then work in another city. But plans are changing always. Me and Calgary working out too well. I felt welcome and everything made me stay. So here we are, still in Calgary. My "work and holiday visa" will end in 11 weeks. That means for me 11 more weeks to spend in my beloved city of Calgary and then i will put my backpack on again to give that website a few more pages...
If you wonder what i did the whole time in Canada, it is not hard to explain it to you in few words. I worked, met awesome people, learned a lot about my profession as a Bartender and Barista and Wine and took my time to travel to the sites around Calgary. When i arrived in Canada at the 01.04.2015 i stayed few days with couchsurfing. Soon i found a job at the Cirque du Soleil again. After few weeks everything changed. I moved to a nice shared house close to downtown and found two jobs, i m still in love with. I got the position as a Bartender at Charcut ( an awesome restaurant (www.charcut.com) and as a Barista at deville ( i love that coffee shop without words) (www.devillecoffee.ca). I could not decide between one of them, so i stayed and worked for both companies during the whole time in Canada. I worked lots, but it never felt like work because i just enjoy doing it. I guess thats why i was able to save good money to continue my travel soon and to improve myself a lot. Yeah like i told, 11 more weeks and then i have to go, i will miss it.
Besides my work i made good friends here. i felt welcome the whole time. i guess that was a big point which made me stay here in Calgary. I moved ones and both times i liked my home. i bought a bike and biked every day ( oh i will miss my bike as well, such a beauty). i did trips to the Okanagan Valley, Banff and Lake Louise and saw the beautiful Rocky mountains when we went on impressive hikes.
Good friends came and visit me here. By the way that means a lot to me. Anika and Patrick spent a whole week with me. Its was good times. Same for my beloved friend Max, who i met ones in Australia. He is still traveling same like me:).
Anyway Calgary was good to me. I will miss it, and i will enjoy the last 11 weeks here. But then i m ready for CUBA. i can't wait to explore South America. Kayla my roommate will join me for few weeks. I m just excited for life....xx
Around three weeks ago i arrived in Canada/Calgary. First step was living with somebody (couchsurfing)for the first 4 days. During that time i met a lot of people and made great first
connections; i got a lot of help. I guess thats why everything made me feel welcome in Calgary. Already after 4 days i found a great house/room to rent. i share a house with two awesome
roommates- i feel like beeing home=) also i found work during the first days in Calgary; i m working again for the cirque du soleil. But i m still looking for another job; but well it looks god
for me, i will have a couple of interviews this week, so that hopefully end of this week i will have a second job! I got a bike, means that i m going always by bike- so much fun. I also have a
lot of helpful and great new friends around me, i m never alone, they show me around a lot. All in all it couldnt be better and i start to like calgary every day more and more.... for now i plan
to stay here around september!!! By the way the picture in the nature are taken in Banff. Its a mountain town 1 hour away... Calgary is a City, but close to Calgary you can find a lot of
beautiful hiking spots and national parks...
